CACLV administers the PA Department of Community and Economic Development Weatherization Assistance Program for people who live in Lehigh and Northampton Counties. Services are provided at no cost to the participant under the program. Services may include things like furnace repairs, insulation, caulking and weather-stripping doors.
The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and US Department of Health and Human Services.
Any person who has a low income [under 150% of the federal poverty level] and resides in Lehigh or Northampton County can receive assistance under the program. Renters and Homeowners may qualify.
CACLV makes a determination of eligibility. If a person is eligible, completes an application and provides required documentation, a CACLV representative will conduct an inspection of the residence to determine if any energy savings improvements can be made under the Weatherization Assistance Program. In addition CACLV will provide information designed to help the household reduce its energy bills. A home improvement contractor would be sent to do any work appropriate under the program.
If you live in Lehigh or Northampton County, you may obtain additional information about the Weatherization Assistance Program by contacting CACLV at 484.893.1100.
