CACLV administers PPL’s WRAP Program in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. This includes areas served by PPL Electric Utilities Corporation in Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh, Northampton and Monroe counties.
WRAP is designed to help low income customers decrease their electric bills. Examples of possible WRAP services are insulation of attics and basements, caulking of air leaks that lead to higher heating costs, and insulation of hot water pipes. Items that may be provided under the program include compact fluorescent light bulbs or energy efficient appliances to replace high energy using appliances.
The key to the success of WRAP is that WRAP participants are partners with PPL and CACLV. The goal of all three is to reduce the customer’s electric bill. WRAP services are provided at no cost to the customer.
Customers whose electricity is delivered by PPL Electric Utilities Corporation and whose income falls below 200% of the federal poverty level are eligible for WRAP.
A customer’s electricity usage determines the type of WRAP services that may be provided. For example, a customer who uses electric heat and has high usage would be eligible for more services than a customer who only uses electricity for lighting and minor electrical appliances. However all customers can benefit from WRAP’s energy education and all are invited to apply for the program.
Renters and homeowners may be eligible for WRAP.
